celebrate … a challenge

Everything I read in the last couple of days has been talking to me of the need for rest, recupperation and boundaries. In these crazy last days before our women’s event on the weekend, it feels like a weird time to be getting these messages. Yet I heard myself say to my sister this morning “the trouble is I finish one task and move on to the next without even stopping to celebrate”.

I find myself in this place even in my everyday life. I rush from one thing to another without the pause that needs to come after each completed task. I worry that this hurriedness is affecting my children too.

I think the key is not just in making time to rest and recover; or a pause to acknowledge and celebrate achievement; but also saying yes to the right things as there is a sense of excitement and purpose in being in the right place at the right time.

I am excited about this event on the weekend, I am challenged and stretched by it but also exhilarated. I know I am in the right place at the right time. I think the lesson I need to learn today is to make sure I stop and celebrate when it’s done.
